A1 for my weakest subject!
My english test results is out and guess what, I got 30/40 which is an A1! My english teacher was very surprised with my results. Not only did I get an A1, I was also the second in class before various mistakes were soptted in my friends' papers and not in mine.

test test test!!!!!!!
I will be having most of my tests in these few weeks. I have to study for my test very hard inorder to achieve the MSG grade I want. I was very busy so I did not have time to post for the last week or so. Some of my tests are already over so I had some time to post now. My math test's grade was released last week and I got a A2! If I just score 1 more mark, I would have gotten an A1. Awwwwww man.

I had a english common test today and I forgot the test date! I remembered that I have a common test today only when my form teacher announced it today. I quickly went through my file and revised during break. The test is on comprehension and summery writing so I looked through all the worksheets that I have done so far. Luckily, the test was not so difficult(I think so). I had time to finish the test and check my answers. Although the test was not so difficult, I still had some problems with my vocabulary. There are some words that I could not understand their meaning in the passage.I also had my science test today. It was about Elements and Compounds. I revised for it so I felt okey after the test. Though I revised for the test, I forgot some of the uses of the elements. That would cost me dearly. The total of the two tests is 40marks so I hope to score 30 marks for my science test.My math test results would be coming out soon. I had my test last week and my teacher is likely to release our results in the next few days. I did my best for all the test and will be happy with any score higher than 65%. If I did not get the score I wanted, I will revise the subject more often and score better for my next test.

Today my from teacher Mrs Chai and the director of consortium Mrs Ke met my mother and I. They met us as my mother wanted to know if I could keep up with my work. I set a goal of achieving the goal of avg MSG 3.00 for my end-of-year examinations. I hope to get B3 for my Integrated Humanities, B4 for Language arts, A2 for science and Chinese and B4 for IS.
I have now got into the self-study programme to boost my quality of studing. I had to take away some time from my Weiqi CCA but I personally think that it will not have a big impact on my Weiqi as I will only take about 15 minutes of my training time. I had kicked my habit of playing com games in order to improve my studies. I only play on weekends now, for a few hours.
I also read newspapers whenever I had the time so that I could improve on my general knowledge and of course, my english. I write book reviews after I finish reading a book or newspapers. I also check the dictionary for words that I do not know. I need to improve my vocab so I now read on a wider radius. I could also read Biography by people such as Lee Kuan Yew though I could hardly undestang the books without the help of a dictionary or a Thesaurous. I highlight any word that I do not know and check the dictionary. I now record them in my own "mini dictionary" which contains all the words that I do not know and their meanings. I study for an extra hour everyday. Under the supervision of my mother. I also did that during the holidays. I need to bulid up on my grammar too. I tend to make many mistakes on tenses, setence structure and spelling. I have a tutor now and he comes to my house every Tuesday. He mainly train me on my comprehension and composition. Mrs Ke and Mrs Chai said that English is a very important subject. I must pass it. Although I also need to revise the other subjects I have to focus on English as almost all the subjects are based on English.

Progress is benifical for society. It is, however, a double-edged sword. For example, the invention of the internet made life esaier but also made things easier for those criminals. There are cyber-crimes happening all over the world now. One may argue that progress is not only technology advancements progress can also mean physical fitness. Well, if most of us have good physical fitness, what about the criminals?
I like Sayid Ali Sahib the best. He is full of knowledge. Although he is one of the shortest chrarcters, ( shortest showing time) he made a huge impact on me. It is till I read the Villege by the sea then I know that industralisation had such a big impact on mother nature. What he said was true. The birds and animals have to be chased out of their homes when we, humans build factories. On the whole, Sayid Ali Sahib is a wise man.
Villege by the sea is a good book and i recomand yiu to read it.
You should be able to get to it in www.weread.com

I like the part where Hari began to work in Bombay. I like it as I saw the improvement in Hari and felt motivated by him. I would want to learn from him. I scored quite low for my test and will have to improve or I will have to stay in sec one for the whole of next year. Hari worked hard and did not spent a cent (except when buying presents for his family). That is also a value for us to learn. We are blessed with a good life and we should treasure it.
I think that a city rat is much better than a country rat. A city rat usually knows a lot more than a country rat. A city rat could also get much better meals than a coutry rat as a city rat could go to a restuarant and get some leftover food. A coutry rat can only eat raw food or cooked food with poor quality. Although a city rat can eat much better than a country rat, there is a certain risk to it as there are many cats in the city.

The poet I like is Ralph Angel. He has a good sence of humour(at least I think so).
The three poems he wrote are
Breaking and Entering
Man in a Window
Tidy
Ralph Angel was born in Seattle, Washington, in 1951. He is the author of Twice Removed ,Neither World, which received the 1995 James Laughlin Award, and Anxious Latitudes. His poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Poetry, The Antioch Review, The American Poetry Review, and many other magazines. He is the Edith R. White Distinguished Professor at the University of Redlands, in California.

O my Luve's like a red, red rose
That's newly sprung in June;
O my Luve's like the melodie
That's sweetly played in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry:
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun
;I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only Luve,
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho' it ware ten thousand mile.
The figuretive language used are metaphor, hyperbole, personification and simile.
Simile is used in Luve's like a red, red rose.
Hyperbole is used in O my Luve's like a red, red rose.
It exagerrates how beautiful Luve is.
Personification is used in While the sands o' life shall run.
It gives the sand live and make it run, which is not possible.

Today, I read a essay in The Straits Times about an open letter to Mr H1N1.
It is quite funny in a way. It says that Mr H1N1 is cowardy as compared to SARS and also questions the real identity of H1N1.
It also says that we humans have already sent a group of amoured militas to the frontline to confront H1N1.They are each armed with a thermometer. You got it! They are the PPC, short for Pandamic Prevention Clinic.
I recommand everyone who read this read the essay. It is on page A2.

There are fake watches, diamonds and gold. The news yesterday shocked me that there is actually fake degrees!!!
Wow, that's increadible! I could not believe my eyes.
Even the owner of the school says that he is duped.
He said in defence that he really did not know that he was not supposed to sell degrees.
It makes me wonder if he had any common sence.
Everyone knows that one should get good grades in his/her exam to get a degree.
If he is the owner of the school, how could he not know?
